Neo Environmental Ltd are highly experienced in all forms of bird survey work, offering a wide range of survey techniques across the UK and Ireland. We have conducted well in excess of 200 ornithological assessments, which have varied from desk-based reports for individual species, to full year long surveys of multiple species, including breeding and non-breeding birds. The types of on-site surveys completed have varied from basic nest searches, to surveys of large flocks of birds. We have completed these surveys across coastal areas, estuarine sites, as well as upland and lowland habitats, including agricultural land.Bird species are highly mobile and will readily commute between nesting/roosting sites and feeding sites. Many species can often be dependent on several habitat types at any given point through the year, and can be effected by developments. The potential risk to local birds is dependent on the type of development and the species of birds present. Often the timing of the construction phase of a project can lead to potential impacts to local bird species. Our ecology team work with many different clients on a variety of projects with very diverse timescales and survey conditions. We ensure that all survey work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines and principles.
Bird surveys are carried out at specific times of the year depending on the species, and it is therefore important to identify potential ornithological constraints at the early stages of the proposed development. This ensures the required work can be scheduled in for the correct survey seasons, to prevent unnecessary delays to your project.
By consulting with our clients, as well as relevant statutory and non-statutory bodies throughout the process, Neo Environmental provide a consistently high level of customer service, which allows our clients to make informed decisions throughout their projects.
