Neo Environmental have an experienced archaeology team who have provided a range of services from walkover surveys, geophysical prospection and watching briefs to full excavation, in order to negotiate potential archaeological issues associated with developments. As our consultants operate out of our offices across Britain and Ireland, we are well versed in all the various national and regional regulatory frameworks as well as the archaeology that might be encountered within the area of your development. Our experience and structure means that we can facilitate work for single person watching briefs for small projects, or large commercial teams for complex longer term projects.

Neo Environmental ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards, following CIfA (Chartered Institute of Field Archaeologists) and IAI (Institute of Irish Archaeologists) guidelines and standards. Our team are constantly updating their knowledge through attending conferences and workshops to ensure that new innovations and legislative changes are integrated into the service we provide. All our archaeologists have CIFA membership. Our experience  ranges from single small housing developments, to large infrastructural projects (Field team of 15 archaeologists). Examples of work completed to date include the A82 road project in Scotland, quarries in Galway and solar farms across the whole of the UK and Ireland. Our Archaeology geophysical team have completed surveys on over 20 solar farms, utility cable routes and access roads. The protection of this finite resource is a passion of ours, but we are also keenly aware of the commercial limitations for projects and will always endeavour to get the most cost effective outcome for our clients. Early involvement during the initial stages of projects ensures that we can identify the best options available to our clients.

Although not always possible, we attempt to negate the need for initial intrusive testing through the application of walkover surveys, desk based assessments and geophysical survey techniques.

Our Project Managers are happy to discuss options for any archaeological constraints and can be contacted through our various offices.
